
Rebecca Loumiotis Director of Communications for Finance & Administration
Rebecca Loumiotis joined Johns Hopkins University in 2024 as the inaugural director of communications in the office of the executive vice president for finance and administration. She oversees all aspects of internal and external communications for the EVP, the office, and the F&A departments in close partnership with University Communications, F&A leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Rebecca led communications for the Baltimore-based humanitarian and development organization International Orthodox Christian Charities, spearheading communications strategy, editorial planning, and execution for marketing, public relations, fundraising, and engagement goals at all levels of the organization, across departments and international borders. Earlier, she built a successful editorial business focused on helping nonnative-English-speaking authors prepare their academic books and articles for publication, and for six years she taught English to speakers of other languages in Greece.
Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in English and religion from the College of William and Mary and a master’s in New Testament and early Christian literature from the University of Chicago, as well as the Ellinomatheia (Greek language proficiency) from the University of Athens. She’s an avid gardener and is working on her French.
