Michael Roach Strategic Project Manager

Michael Roach joined Johns Hopkins University in 2022 as a strategic project manager in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. He manages cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve identified strategic goals in support of the university and its diverse community. He has played a critical supportive role in standing up the inaugural Johns Hopkins Police Department, implementing the J-Plan Budget System, and managing various other financial assessments across the university’s nine academic divisions.

His career spans 20+ years of service, leadership, and management including active duty as an officer in the United States Navy, project management at a Fortune 100 company, and leading various programs and projects for federal and local governments—as well as engagement in numerous community and volunteer opportunities.

Michael and his wife, Rebekah, live in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood of Baltimore. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy (’05), is a certified project management professional (2011), and is Lean Six Sigma certified. When he’s not in Garland Hall, Michael loves roughhousing with his three young sons, serving as a pastor at a local church, reading theology, and working out at the gym.
